The Degree Committee for the Faculties of Clinical Medicine and Veterinary Medicine
The Faculties of Clinical Medicine and Veterinary Medicine entrust the oversight of their postgraduate programmes to a Degree Committee. The Degree Committee’s membership represents the 21 departments and institutes within the School of Clinical Medicine and additionally the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
This Committee meets monthly during term-time to discuss postgraduate student policy matters and to consider postgraduate examination and progress reports. It is the awarding body for Master degrees and PhD and other higher degrees. Routine matters (such as the appointment of examiners, working away and other allowances – as well as most admissions business) are dealt with on a daily basis by the administrative officers who support the work of the Degree Committee.
